Instruction for Authors

The RKGP Journal of Cancer Research publishes peer-reviewed manuscripts, including full-length research articles, review papers, and concise scientific communications. Submitted manuscripts must demonstrate methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the field of cancer research. Accepted articles are published sequentially.

Manuscript Submission

Authors should thoroughly review the journal’s Editorial Policy and Ethical Publishing Standards before preparing their manuscripts. Submissions must follow appropriate methodological and reporting frameworks consistent with their study type.

Manuscript submission through the journal’s online management system is strongly recommended. New users must complete a one-time registration prior to logging in. Manuscripts may alternatively be submitted as a single Microsoft Word file—including text, tables, and figures—to the Editorial Office via rjcr@rkgpjournals.org.

Upon receipt, the corresponding author will receive same-day acknowledgement, and a manuscript identification number will be issued within 72 hours.

Cover Letter

Each submission must include a cover letter specifying the corresponding author’s full contact details, including mailing address and email. Authors may also suggest two to three potential reviewers, providing their names and relevant contact information.

Research Ethics

Studies involving human participants must comply with the World Medical Association (WMA) Declaration of Helsinki. Research conducted on animals must adhere to internationally recognized ethical standards such as the Animal Welfare Act, the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act, relevant EU Directives, ARRP recommendations, and comparable regulatory guidelines.

Reporting Guidelines

Authors are responsible for providing transparent, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of their research methods and findings. Adherence to recognized reporting guidelines reinforces research quality and enhances reproducibility.

Article Categories

RKGP JCR accepts submissions under the following categories:

1. Original Research Articles

Full-length studies presenting new scientific findings. Methodological descriptions must contain adequate detail to permit replication.

2. Short Communications

Concise papers suitable for brief investigations, novel hypotheses, or innovative methodologies. Manuscripts are typically equivalent to 2–4 printed pages (approximately 6–12 manuscript pages). A flexible formatting structure is permitted.

3. Review Articles

Critical and comprehensive analyses of relevant scientific topics. Reviews are generally restricted to 4–6 printed pages (approximately 12–18 manuscript pages) and undergo full peer review.

Manuscript Preparation

Although specific requirements differ by article type, most manuscripts should follow the IMRAD structure: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Text must be double-spaced with pages numbered consecutively starting from the title page.

Title Page

The title must accurately reflect the study’s content and scope. The title page should include:

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • Email addresses and telephone numbers

  • Complete contact details of the corresponding author

Abstract

A concise summary (100–200 words) outlining the background, objectives, methods, principal findings, and conclusions. Abbreviations and citations should be avoided. The abstract may be structured or unstructured.

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords following the abstract.

Abbreviations

Limit abbreviations to essential, non-standard, or unusually long terms.

Introduction

The Introduction should clearly outline the research problem, summarize relevant literature, and justify the scientific rationale for the study. It should be accessible to scientists across various related disciplines.

Materials and Methods

This section must provide sufficient detail to enable the work to be reproduced. Standard or previously published procedures should be cited rather than described in detail, except where modifications have been made. Subsections are encouraged for clarity.

Results and Discussion

The Results section should present findings clearly and concisely, using past tense for the authors’ work and present tense when referencing established knowledge. Interpretation should be minimal, focusing instead on factual outcomes.

The Discussion should interpret results, compare them with previous studies, and highlight the significance and implications of the findings. Authors may use subheadings or combine the Results and Discussion into one integrated section where appropriate.

Conclusion

A brief conclusion summarizing the key findings and their broader scientific relevance should be included at the end of the manuscript.

Acknowledgments

This section may include brief recognition of individuals, institutions, and funding bodies that contributed to the research.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose all financial, professional, or personal relationships that could potentially influence the work.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables should be used selectively and must include concise, descriptive titles.

  • Measurement units must be clearly stated.

  • Tables must be sequentially numbered and prepared in Microsoft Word or Excel.

  • Figures may be submitted in TIFF, JPEG, GIF, or PowerPoint formats.

  • All tables and figures should be cited appropriately within the manuscript.

  • Figures and tables should be placed at the end of the manuscript or as separate files and numbered using Roman numerals.

  • Footnotes in tables should use lowercase superscript letters.

  • Images may be submitted in color or grayscale.

  • Figure legends must be numbered consecutively and correspond to the figures.

References

In-text citations must follow the author–date format. For three or more authors, use et al. in italics after the first author. When citing multiple works by the same author from the same year, differentiate them using alphabetical suffixes.

  • (Sarah, 2001; Nishinari, 2006a,b; Kyuto, 2001, 2007)

References must appear at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order. Unpublished materials or manuscripts under review should be cited only in the text. Journal titles must follow Chemical Abstracts abbreviations. When available, DOIs and PubMed IDs should be provided.

Short Communications

Short Communications should present a complete, self-contained study. These manuscripts are limited to two figures and one table, and must follow the general guidelines with the following modifications:

  • Abstracts may not exceed 100 words.

  • Methods may be incorporated into figure legends or table footnotes.

  • Results and Discussion must be combined into a single section.

Review Process

All manuscripts undergo editorial assessment followed by peer review from at least one Editorial Board member or a qualified external expert. Reviewer comments are typically provided within four weeks. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated before acceptance. The journal aims to publish accepted papers within eight weeks of submission.

Acceptance Certificate

Upon acceptance, authors will be issued an official Certificate of Acceptance.

Manuscript Handling Fee

Following acceptance, an invoice of USD $350 will be issued to the corresponding author. The payment option becomes available on the submission portal only after editorial approval.

Payment does not influence editorial decisions. Authors requiring financial assistance should request support prior to acceptance.

Proofs and Reprints

Typeset proofs will be sent electronically to authors, who must return corrections within 72 hours. Corrections should not exceed 5% of the manuscript. If authors do not respond in time, the Editorial Office will finalize the proof. Authors receive a PDF of the published article; printed copies are available upon request for a fee.

Publication and Notification

Once the final proof is approved, the manuscript will be scheduled for online publication in the next available issue. A notification containing direct access links will be sent to the corresponding author.

Copyright

Submission implies that the manuscript is original, unpublished (apart from conference abstracts or thesis excerpts), and not under consideration elsewhere. Upon acceptance, copyright is automatically transferred to the publisher.
